Holiday Airport Delays

The Thanksgiving weekend is one of the busiest of the holiday to the airport, travelers in the country. Remember that disaster JetBlue last year? Meeting tar to 8 hours! JetBlue and other airlines have changed since then, but there are things you can do to make your trip a little 'less stressful.

Airlines of the United States will be 27 million more passengers during the week to run before and after the holiday. This is an increase of 4% compared to the standard of passengers (about 600,000 more fordays). Necessarily mean that if you are traveling this holiday season is a good chance that you are retarded. What to do? More:

1. Get Real-time airport delay information before traveling. This site is brought to you by the FAA. You can also find more information on this site by clicking on your airport.

2. Check-in before you arrive, then all you have to do is drop off your stuff, show your ID and be on track (depending on the airline hastravel with). I did it with American Airlines, JetBlue and United States, while many others offer this feature on-line – just go to their website.

3. If you are delayed or a flight is canceled, call the 1-800 number of airlines while they are still in line to get the first available flight. Once at the counter, do not leave until they get another flight acceptable. This means that even if another airline, ask if you do not offer.

4. Spend as little as youwhen you go through security checks. The less stuff you have, the faster you get through. Sure that items can and can not provide.

5. That said, you have some things to make your wait a bit 'more convenient to use. A couple of things you can give is: a favorite book, your laptop (many airports offer Fi, or hook-up available), puzzle books, portable games (electronic or otherwise), or a job.

6. If you have children, be sure to pack extra snacks, diapers, formula and toys, or favorite games. Diapers and formula are expensive and / or available at the airport.

7. A comfortable clothing is a good approach to get where you need to use as a pillow or a blanket to sleep / rest.

8. Bring patience and a sense of joy during your vacation trip, and I know that you're not inside alone. There are 26 million people in the same situation.

Happy Thanksgiving and bon voyage!
